OUR HISTORY

Perseverance Rural Development Centre is a community-driven, non-profit organization committed to improving the lives of marginalized children, women, and youth through practical, long-term solutions. We focus on empowering underserved communities by expanding access to education, strengthening leadership capacity, providing mentorship, and advancing advocacy initiatives that protect dignity, promote equality, and unlock opportunities for social and economic progress.

At the heart of our work is a simple belief: lasting change happens when communities are supported with the knowledge, tools, and safe environments they need to thrive. That’s why our programs are designed to be sustainable, inclusive, and rooted in the everyday realities faced by grassroots youth and women—especially those who experience limited economic, social, and political power.

Our Impact
We take accountability seriously. Perseverance Rural Development Centre has established clear mechanisms to ensure that our work remains transparent, measurable, and responsive to community needs. We actively track outcomes, document lessons learned, and continuously strengthen our approach to maximize results.

To deepen our understanding and extend our reach, we collaborate with experienced researchers and subject-matter professionals who help us evaluate our impact and improve program design. By combining community insight with evidence-based thinking, we are able to create meaningful interventions that produce long-term, scalable change. This strategic approach strengthens our influence and ensures we can advocate more effectively for the communities we serve.

Empath Alliance
Perseverance Rural Development Centre is proud to be part of the Empath Alliance, a pan-African network that unites activists and grassroots organizations working to advance Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) across the continent. Through this alliance, we stand alongside courageous voices who challenge harmful norms, address stigma, and respond to resistance with resilience and unity.

We believe that collective action is powerful. By partnering with organizations that share our mission, we exchange knowledge, strengthen advocacy efforts, build solidarity, and push for systems where SRHR is respected, valued, and protected for everyone—regardless of background, location, or circumstance.

Together, we are helping to shape a future where young people and women can live free from violence, access quality healthcare, and make informed choices about their bodies and their lives.

Our Goals
Our work is guided by clear priorities that address urgent challenges while building pathways for opportunity:

Promoting Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR):
Advancing education, awareness, and access to services that support safe, informed, and dignified reproductive health choices.

Ending Child Marriage and Gender-Based Violence:
Protecting children and women through community advocacy, prevention programs, survivor support, and stronger local accountability systems.

Expanding Access to Education:
Removing barriers that keep children and youth out of school, supporting learning pathways, and promoting educational equity for underserved communities.

Digital Health and Innovation:
Using digital tools and innovation to improve access to health information and services, especially in rural and low-resource environments.

Inclusive Advocacy and Leadership:
Developing confident, informed leaders—particularly youth and women—who can speak up, influence policy, and drive change within their communities.

Our Guiding Principles
Everything we do is grounded in grassroots realities and guided by human rights. We recognize that many youth and women face systemic barriers that limit their ability to participate fully in society. Our mission is to help dismantle those barriers by creating programs that build knowledge, confidence, safety, and opportunity.

We are guided by the principle that every youth and woman has the right to:

the highest attainable standard of life,

safe and informed reproductive choices,

high-quality healthcare,

and an enabling environment that protects and promotes sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Perseverance Rural Development Centre exists to ensure these rights are not just ideals—but lived realities for the people who need them most.
